1. What training is required for ‘All Trained’?

   For all registered leaders, ‘All Trained’ requires Youth Protection, Fast Start (for your position), and ‘This is Scouting’. These are all available on-line at In addition, Leader-Specific Training (sometimes referred to as ‘Basic Training’) for your position is required, and Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills (also known as North Star) is required for Boy Scout, Varsity, and Venturing leaders.  You can find more information hereand this PDF Overview is also helpful.

2. Does the LDS Church support the ‘All Trained’ Initiative?

   “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints supports the mandatory training policy and desires all Scouting leaders to receive training necessary for their individual position.” Read the full letter.

3. How can I get trained?

   Some training (such as Youth Protection, Fast Start, and This is Scouting) is available online at Classes not available online are available periodically through the Council and District. A current list of registration opportunities is available here.
