Sponsor a Unit

Sponsor Scouting!

Whether a church, synagogue, or mosque; service organization, school, civic group, or even a concerned group of parents, your organization can use Scouting as a vital partner in developing the character of the youth in your community.

Sponsorship (Become a Chartered Organization)

Becoming a sponsor in the Boy Scouts of America in the Salt Creek District is easy. Here are the steps:

  1. Obtain New Unit Application form from the Scout Office or download here. (pdf).
  2. Using the form as a guide, find leaders and youth in your organization who want to participate in Scouting. (About six adults and at least five youth)*
  3. Pay a $20 annual charter fee that helps pay for general liability insurance.
  4. Return form and money to your regional unit service executive, Burt Harvey

If you wish to start Learning for Life in your school or starting an Exploring Post in your community, go to the Learning for Life page.

*Often, the District can provide youth and leaders, what we need is a venue and a sponsor.
