Roundtable - Youth Councils

The three youth council being offered monthly at Roundtable are opportunities for youth leaders to directly influence the affairs and plans of the district. Look below for more information about each group.

Who Needs To Be There

Purpose of the Council

District Senior Patrol Leader's Council

Scoutmaster and the Senior Patrol Leader - in LDS Boy Scout Troops, this position is sometimes filled by the Deacon's Quorum President

  • Operate a model Troop using the patrol method and elected leadership.
  • Assist the Acitivities Committee in the planning and execution of the Fall Camporee, Klondike Derby, and Spring Camporee.
  • Plan out inter-troop competitions at district campouts.
  • Coordinate inter-troop communication during the rest of the year, foster inter-troop brotherhood, and encorage troops to plan activites and service projects together outside of the regular district activity.

Varsity Captain's Table

Varsity Coach and the Team Captain - in LDS Varsity Scout Teams, this position is sometimes filled by the Teacher's Quorum President

  • Operate a model Team using the methods of Varsity Scouting and the five fields of emphasis: Advancment, High Adventure/Sports, Personal Development, Service, Special Programs and Events.
  • Assist the Acitivities Committee in the planning and execution of two to three Varsity events during the year using the program resource manuals and centered around the five fields of emphasis.
  • Promote the attainment of the Varsity Letter, Varsity Medallions, and the Denali Award.
  • Coordinate inter-team communication during the rest of the year, foster inter-team brotherhood, and encourage teams to plan activites and service projects together outside of the regular district activity.

Teen Leader Council

Venture Crew Advisor and the Venture Crew President - in LDS Venture Crews this position is sometimes filled by the Priest's Quorum President

  • Operate a model Crew that includes elected leadership, youth committees with adult advisors, and an annual plan.
  • Plan and execute two to three Venture events during the year as part of the crew's annual plan. The Activities Committee will provide advice and support only.
  • Plan and execute an annual Venture Leadership Skills course and one Ethical Controversies night for both young men and women of Venture age in the district.
  • Coordinate inter-crew communication during the rest of the year, foster inter-crew brotherhood, and encourage crews to plan activites and service projects together outside of the regular district activity
