Perform with the Scout Choir at Midway Swiss Days

The hills are alive with the sound of music! Midway’s Swiss Days festival has invited the Utah National Parks Scout Choir to serenade their crowds of thousands on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Join the choir and be a part of Midway's cherished traditional event, which has been held since the 1940s. This event boasts family fun for all ages. To join, simply attend the required rehearsals, which will be held August 9th, 16th, and 30th from 7–8:30 pm at the Orem Council Office. Learn more about the event and rehearsals here

Hike 50 Miles or Volunteer at the 2018 Pony Express 50/20

Join Scouts and families from all over Utah in the 50/20 – the ultimate hiking challenge. This event offers opportunities to hike 10, 20, 25, 30, 40 or 50 miles over local trails, with various stops along the way that provide food, drink, first aid, encouragement and bail-out options. Shorter distance hikes are also available. The event is an ideal opportunity for Scouts to complete the "roadblock" 20-mile hike needed for the Hiking Merit Badge – a hike that few units otherwise conduct. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, leaders and all family members are invited to attend or volunteer at the event. Find more information about the hike or being a volunteer here.

Get Trained at the Upcoming Wood Badge Course

Wood Badge is the ultimate leadership training for all adults, whether they hold a Scouting position or not. This Fall, multiple two-weekend courses (Thursday-Saturday for two weekends in the same month) are available. See course dates in the calendar below or click here. The objective of the Wood Badge course is to demonstrate as practically as possible the aims and methods of Scouting, while also gaining lifelong leadership skills. Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity. Register early here as the courses will fill up fast!

Attend the First Fall Partner and Pal Campout at Maple Dell Scout Camp
